Courses & Programs
What subjects does Meridian Learning offer?
We offer programs across five main disciplines: Applied AI and Machine Learning, Full-Stack Web Development, Mandarin Chinese for Business, Arabic Language Foundations, and Personal Development for Professionals. Each discipline includes multiple course formats to suit different schedules and learning preferences.
How long are the courses?
Most courses run for 2 to 3 weeks. Individual sessions last between 60 and 75 minutes. Intensive programs may include daily sessions over a condensed period, while standard courses typically meet 3 times per week. Each course page lists the exact schedule and total hours.
What formats are available?
We offer four formats: self-paced online courses with pre-recorded video lessons, live webinar series with real-time instructor interaction, master classes that provide focused deep-dives into specific topics, and multi-week intensives that combine live sessions, assignments, and peer collaboration. You can choose the format that best matches your learning style and availability.
Are there any prerequisites for courses?
Prerequisites vary by program. Language courses such as Mandarin Chinese for Business and Arabic Language Foundations have no prerequisites and welcome complete beginners. The Applied AI and Full-Stack Development programs recommend basic familiarity with at least one programming language. Each course page clearly lists specific requirements so you can assess readiness before enrolling.
When do courses start?
We run courses on a rolling cohort basis, with new cohorts starting every 4 to 6 weeks. Spring 2026 enrollment is currently open, with cohort start dates in April, May, and June. Specific dates for each program are listed on the Courses & Programs page.
Do courses include practical assignments?
Yes. Every course includes hands-on assignments designed to reinforce the material covered in sessions. Technical courses feature coding exercises, portfolio-ready projects, and real-world case studies. Language courses include conversation practice, writing exercises, and role-play scenarios based on professional settings.
Can I take more than one course at a time?
You can enroll in multiple courses simultaneously, though we recommend limiting concurrent enrollment to two programs to maintain focus and keep up with assignments. If you're unsure about your capacity, our team can help you plan a learning path that works with your schedule.
Enrollment
How do I register for a course?
Registration is completed through our website. Visit the Courses & Programs page, select the program you're interested in, and fill out the enrollment form. You'll need to provide your name, email address, and select your preferred cohort. After submitting, you'll receive a confirmation email with next steps and payment instructions.
What information is needed to enroll?
The enrollment form requires your full name, email address, and your selected course or program. For certain programs, we may ask about your current skill level or professional background to help our instructors tailor the experience. All data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Is there a limit on class size?
Yes. To maintain a quality learning experience, we cap cohort sizes. Live webinars and intensives are typically limited to 30 to 40 students per cohort, while master classes may have slightly smaller groups of 15 to 20. We recommend enrolling early to secure your preferred start date.
Can I switch to a different cohort after enrolling?
If you need to change your cohort start date, contact our support team at least 5 days before your original start date. We'll transfer your enrollment to the next available cohort at no additional cost, subject to availability. You can reach us at [email protected].
Do I need to be located in Canada to enroll?
No. Our programs are fully online, and students from any location are welcome to enroll. Live sessions are scheduled in Pacific Time (PT), and all sessions are recorded for students in different time zones. Please note that pricing is listed in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Payment & Refunds
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment processor. All transactions are processed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.
What is the refund policy?
We offer a full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before the course start date. Cancellations within 7 days of the start date are eligible for a 50% refund or a credit toward a future program of equal or greater value. Once a course has begun, refunds are not available, but you may transfer your enrollment to a future cohort. Contact our support team at [email protected] for all refund requests.
Do you offer payment plans or installments?
For programs priced above $500 CAD, we offer a two-installment payment option. The first payment is due at enrollment, and the second is due before the midpoint of the course. Installment plans do not carry any additional fees. Contact our team to arrange installment payments for your chosen program.
Are there any discounts for enrolling in multiple courses?
Yes. We offer a 10% discount when you enroll in two or more programs within the same enrollment period. Group enrollments of three or more people from the same organization may also qualify for volume pricing. Email us at [email protected] with details, and our team will provide a custom quote.
Will I receive an invoice or receipt?
Yes. A detailed receipt is emailed to you immediately after payment. If you need a formal invoice for employer reimbursement or tax purposes, contact our team and we'll provide one within 2 business days. All receipts include the course name, amount paid, date, and GST information where applicable.
Learning Experience
Can I access recordings after the live sessions?
Yes. All live sessions are recorded and made available within 24 hours. Enrolled students retain access to recordings for 6 months following the course end date, so you can revisit material at your own pace or catch up on any sessions you missed.
What happens if I miss a live session?
Missing a live session won't affect your enrollment status. You can watch the recording, review session notes, and complete the associated assignment at your own pace. If you have questions after watching the recording, you can ask them in the peer community forum or during the next live session's Q&A segment.
How do I interact with instructors?
During live webinars and intensives, you can ask questions in real time through the chat or by raising your hand during Q&A segments. Outside of live sessions, you can post questions in the peer community forum where instructors check in regularly. For private questions, you can email instructors directly through the course platform.
Is there a community or peer interaction?
Every course includes access to a private cohort forum where you can collaborate with fellow students, share resources, and discuss assignments. Many of our students find the peer network to be one of the most valuable aspects of their experience at Meridian Learning.
What materials or resources are provided?
Each course includes downloadable session slides, supplementary reading lists, practice exercises, and template files where applicable. Technical courses provide starter code repositories and environment setup guides. Language courses include vocabulary lists, audio pronunciation files, and conversation scripts. All materials are accessible through the learning platform.
How much time should I expect to spend per week?
Plan for approximately 4 to 8 hours per week, depending on the program and format. This includes attending live sessions (or watching recordings), completing assignments, and reviewing materials. Intensive programs require more time, typically 8 to 12 hours per week over a shorter duration.
Certificates
Do I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Upon completing all required sessions and assignments for a program, you receive a verified digital certificate from Meridian Learning Inc. The certificate includes your name, the program title, completion date, and a unique verification code.
What are the requirements for earning a certificate?
Certificate eligibility requires attending or viewing recordings for at least 80% of sessions and submitting all required assignments. For technical courses, assignments must meet a minimum passing standard as outlined in the course syllabus. Language courses require participation in practice sessions and completion of written and oral exercises.
Can I add the certificate to my LinkedIn profile?
Absolutely. Our certificates are designed to be shared on professional profiles. You'll receive a downloadable PDF and a shareable link that you can add to your LinkedIn certifications section, resume, or professional portfolio.
Are Meridian Learning certificates accredited?
Meridian Learning certificates represent completion of our professional development programs. They are not equivalent to university degrees or government-issued professional certifications. Our certificates demonstrate that you have completed a structured learning program and demonstrate commitment to skill development. We do not make claims about guaranteed employment outcomes or professional licensing.
Technical Requirements
What do I need to participate in live sessions?
You'll need a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download speed), an up-to-date web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge), and a microphone for Q&A participation. A webcam is recommended but not required. For technical courses, we'll provide specific software setup instructions before your first session.
Can I access courses on a mobile device?
Recorded sessions and course materials are accessible on mobile devices through your web browser. However, for live sessions and especially for technical courses that involve coding, we strongly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer for the best experience.
Do I need to install any software?
For language courses, no additional software is needed beyond a modern web browser. For technical programs, you may need to install a code editor (such as VS Code, which is free), and specific tools will be listed on the course page.
